2017 ASC Creative Renewal Fellowship recipients

Helping Creative Individuals Explore Their Creative Journey

Everyone needs a break from the day-to-day grind to take a step back and challenge themselves to new ideas, creativity and innovation.

This is especially true for the thousands of creative individuals that are the foundation of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s cultural community.

It is why ASC is proud to announce that four creative individuals that live and work in our community will each receive $10,000 Creative Renewal Fellowships in order to refresh their creative energy in the midst of their careers.

Fellowship recipients are mid-career individuals who have worked in the creative sector for at least 10 years and have generated the majority of their incomes over the past three years through their work as a sole proprietor, creative entrepreneur or contract employee in a creative field.

They can use their awards for research, instruction, conferences, apprenticeships, travel or other experiences that help them explore their creative journey. The new Creative Renewal Fellowship program supports ASC’s belief that continued investment in creative individuals who make Charlotte-Mecklenburg home benefits the region’s overall cultural climate.

The inaugural fellowship recipients are:

Audrey Baran | Annabel Manning | Quentin Talley | Melissa Salpietra
