The Surprising Science of Meetings
ASC Board Room

The Surprising Science of Meetings: How to Run Staff, Team, and Board Meetings that are Truly Effective, Engaging, Inclusive, and Ripe for Innovation.

This highly interactive program brings a sharp and strategic light to an activity typically taken for granted – the meeting. A recent estimate suggests that employees endure a staggering 55 million meetings a day in the United States. Sadly, most meetings fail to engage us, or even worse, blatantly disregard our time.  As a result, our cultural institutions and other nonprofits are not able to fully realize their potential with innovation and inclusion suffering.

During this program, participants will:

  • Get a quick primer on what we know about meetings from an evidence-based perspective. Dr. Rogelberg shares the research that formed the basis of his forthcoming book, The Surprising Science of Meetings: How You Can Lead your Team to Peak Performance.
  • Gain knowledge and resources on how to effectively lead meetings to promote effectiveness and innovation during highly interactive discussions that go way beyond simple and predictable instruction about using an agenda. Dr. Rogelberg incorporates servant leadership notions into the conversation as well – a powerful leadership paradigm that has direct implications for meeting management.
  • Learn unconventional approaches to your meetings, establish better practices to take back to the office immediately, and discover a new mindset that drives value and ROI.

This program is designed for non-profit team leads, managers, executives, and board members.

All attendees will receive a copy of Dr. Rogelberg’s new book (Oxford).
