Kick off Connect with Culture Day on Friday, January 26, 2018



Free cultural experiences will take place at Clayworks, NoDa Brewing Company, Resident Culture Brewing and Lenny Boy Brewing on Friday evening to kick off the weekend.

Cap off the evening at The Mint Museum Uptown at Levine Center for the Arts’ Latin Concert Series with Mariachi Gavilanes Gabriel and access to the galleries – free and open to the public.






Experiences include:

  • Learn how to dance salsa with Rumbao Latin Dance Company and DJ Chan at NoDa Brewing Co. in NoDa. Food will be available for purchase from the Tin Kitchen food truck.
  • Join an African Drum Circle with Drums4Life at Resident Culture Brewery in Plaza Midwood. Food will be available for purchase from the Dumpling Lady food truck.
  • Artists from Ciel Gallery will be at each brewery guiding participants in a collaborative art project. The finished project will be on display at The Mint Museum Uptown from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Participate in a Muddy Fun class at Clayworks in Oakhurst and learn the fun of working with clay. Muddy Fun is limited to 10 participants and pre-registration is required. Common Market will coordinate food and beverage purchases onsite at Clayworks.

Events at breweries are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Mint Museum Uptown Latin Concert Series is at 9:00 p.m. and the galleries will be open for free from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., including the Develar y Detonar (Reveal and Detonate) exhibition. A cash bar will be available at The Mint Museum Uptown.
